St. John’s School is committed to ensuring all children are safe and free from harm both in school and at home. All children have a right to learn, grow and develop in a safe environment where they can trust adults to keep them safe and support them in the choices they make.
Staff work hard to develop relationships with St. John’s children and their families and are vigilant when they notice any changes that trigger concern for any children in our care or their families. Everyone in our school community has the right to be kept safe from harm, discrimination, abuse or harassment and have their voice heard.
Our policies apply to all staff, governors and volunteers working in the school.
The Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) in school are : Rebecca Hunter- headteacher and Heather Browne- deputy headteacher. The Governor with responsibility for Safeguarding is: Janet Abbott our Chair of Governors.
Please see the policies and links below for further information and guidance about Safeguarding and Child Protection here at St. John's along with National Guidance.
