Mrs Janet Abbott - Co-Chair of Governors

"I am proud and feel very privileged to serve as the Chair of Governors at St John’s CE Primary School.

As chair I work to ensure that all governors and I fulfil our statutory duties and that we bring our passion, energy and commitment to give the very best service and provision for all our school community.

In my role I work to help and support staff and pupils achieve a positive learning environment and culture that provides an interesting and exciting school where all can grow and develop to be everything they want to be, now and in the future.

I am the lead governor for Safeguarding taking the responsibility to work with staff, governors and parents to ensure the welfare and duty of care for all pupils, as well as for staff and visitors to the school, creating a safe environment where robust safeguarding practices are in place.

As link governor for Early Years and Literacy I visit school on a regular basis to keep up to date on the curriculum areas and to observe how new initiatives are developed, implemented and reviewed as well as to give some hands-on support.

It is a pleasure to share knowledge and skills of primary education as a governor, and particularly as Chair of Governors, as well as to continue to strengthen and progress as we work together to provide high standards and effective school performance.

All this is achieved through working in partnership with staff, pupils, parents, church and the wider community within the school Christian ethos and values and where God’s love is central to everything.

It is great to be part of the St John’s Church of England Primary School family."

Janet Abbott, Co-Chair of Governors
