For our final week of Autumn 1 we looked at the festival of Diwali. We read the story of Binny’s Diwali hearing all about Rama, Sita, Hanuman, Baharata, Ravana and all the others central to the story of Diwali and how good triumphed over evil. We then had a go at making our own Diva lamps and made rangoli patterns using chalk and found natural materials.

This week in Forest School, the children discussed and set the rules together, pointing out any risks that they had noticed on the site and suggested activities they would like to do in future sessions. We discussed the seasons and what season it might be currently and then went on a scavenger hunt to find if there were any signs of Autumn.
