Learning a different language should foster our children's curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world. The teaching of French at St. John’s enables our key stage two children to express their ideas and thoughts in another language and to understand and respond to its speakers, both in speech and in writing. It provides opportunities for them to communicate for practical purposes, learn new ways of thinking and read great literature in the original language. Language teaching provides the foundation for learning further languages, equipping pupils to study and work in other countries.
The document below explains the three I's- Intent, Implementation and Impact for French here at St. John's.
Intent- Our aims of education and overarching curriculum design here at St. John’s- Why we do what we do!
Implementation- Our curriculum and what we offer our children- What we do and how we do it!
Impact- Has our intent impacted on our learners? Does what we do make a difference to our children?
