At St. John’s CE Primary School we believe that verbal feedback, constructive marking and editing time help raise standards. These strategies form the most useful and powerful on-going diagnostic record of achievement. Feedback and marking makes tracking of learning intentions and outcomes for individual learners on a day-to-day basis manageable and feeds into the next cycle of planning for teaching. It is an extremely effective medium for ensuring that all learners are aware of their own progress and how they can improve. Through specific, accurate and clear verbal and written feedback teachers or/and learners actions can be refocused or redirected to achieve a goal.
